One Proverb a Day!

Listen to this blog.

We humans make plans,
but the Lord
has the final word.

We may think we know
what is right,
but the Lord is the judge
of our motives.

Share your plans with the Lord,
and you will succeed.

The Lord has a reason
for everything he does,
and he lets evil people live
only to be punished.

The Lord doesn't like
anyone who is conceited—
you can be sure
they will be punished.

If we truly love God,
our sins will be forgiven;
if we show him respect,
we will keep away from sin.

When we please the Lord,
even our enemies
make friends with us.

It's better to be honest
and poor
than to be dishonest
and rich.

We make our own plans,
but the Lord decides
where we will go.

Proverbs 16:1-9

When you listen to and pay attention to the wisdom of Solomon, you too can become wise. There are 31 proverbs and 31 days in most months. If you read one proverb every day, you will drink in it's wisdom twelve times a year.

I once heard a man make fun of someone who had memorized the entire Book of Proverbs. As he ridiculed him he said "That man can't speak two sentences without quoting a verse from Proverbs."

It was meant to be a criticism, but I realized it was a great compliment and testimony to the power of God's Word.

When you safely store God's Word in your heart and mind, it will become a significant part of your vocabulary.

And if you know the Book of Proverbs you will have at your disposal Godly wisdom for every situation in life. Read a Proverb every day this month and become wiser in the process!
