God's First Responders!

My dear friends, remember the warning you were given by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.  They told you that near the end of time, selfish and godless people would start making fun of God. And now these people are already making you turn against each other. They think only about this life, and they don't have God's Spirit.

Dear friends, keep building on the foundation of your most holy faith, as the Holy Spirit helps you to pray.  And keep in step with God's love, as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to show how kind he is by giving you eternal life.  Be helpful to all who may have doubts.  Rescue any who need to be saved, as you would rescue someone from a fire. Then with fear in your own hearts, have mercy on everyone who needs it. But hate even the clothes of those who have been made dirty by their filthy deeds.

Offer praise to God our Savior because of our Lord Jesus Christ! Only God can keep you from falling and make you pure and joyful in his glorious presence. Before time began and now and forever, God is worthy of glory, honor, power, and authority. Amen.

Jude 1:17-25

Now, we call them “first responders.”  They are the men and women who hurry to the scene of a fire, an accident, or even an act of terrorism.  Their purpose is to snatch you from the fire, or in some other way stand between you and the threat of death.  We can thank God for those who have that calling on their lives.  So when you hear the sirens, telling you that  the rescue squad is on the way, pray for those in trouble, but also for the first responders!

As a follower of Jesus Christ you are a member of God’s rescue squad.  The alarms are sounding all around as the world is teetering on the brink of an eternity in the fires of Hell!  Their only hope of rescue from eternal death is the One who rescued you!

Remember, as a member of God’s Rescue Squad you are trained, equipped, and guided by the Holy Spirit!  Then you can be a “First Responder” for those in need of Jesus!

“Lord Jesus, help me today to be ready to respond to those in need of Your power to save them from Hell.  May You Jesus be praised forever! Amen.”
