JUST OBEY GOD!

 

 

If you obey God, you will have something to leave your grandchildren. If you don’t obey God, those who live right will get what you leave.

Proverbs 13:22 - CEV

Obedience to God is the best plan for building wealth. You may lay aside lots of money which you hope to pass on to your children and grandchildren, but have it all wiped out in one tragic day on the market! But if you spend your life obeying the voice of God, you will leave a legacy for your children that is more valuable than all the gold in the world!

The Bible says God paved the streets of Heaven with gold! All the gold in Heaven is no more valuable than a pile of asphalt!

Obeying God always means that He will provide you with what you need to live a life of doing His Will! Will you be rich? Oh, yes! Will you have lots of gold and silver and money? Maybe not!

But you will leave for those who come after you this: they will remember you as a man or woman who always obeyed God and trusted Him to give you everything you need! That inheritance is worth more than all the gold and silver!

Ask God to show you how you can obey Him today. When He shows you what to do, put aside everything else and JUST OBEY GOD!

“Lord Jesus, I want to be an obedient follower of You today. Show me how I can be obedient to You. Praise Your Holy Name now and forever. Amen.”

NEW BODY FOREVER!

 

Everything in the heavens has a body, and so does everything on earth. But each one is very different from all the others. The sun isn’t like the moon; the moon isn’t like the stars, and each star is different. That’s how it will be when our bodies are raised to life. These bodies will die, but the bodies that are raised will live forever. These ugly and weak bodies will become beautiful and strong. As surely as there are physical bodies, there are spiritual bodies. And our physical bodies will be changed into spiritual bodies.

1 Corinthians 15:40-44 - CEV

There are some things you can do here on earth to change your body. Diet and exercise are helpful in shaping and firming parts of your body, but they are but temporary fixes. Even the most diligent body builder will one day die and his body will begin turning back to dust! It is a fact of life that death will come to all of us.

But those who give their hearts to Jesus Christ on this earth are promised a new body that will be beautiful and strong. Your body here may be “ugly and weak.” But in Heaven no one is ugly, and no one is weak!

It is of some earthly value to go to the gym here on earth. But it won’t last forever! Giving your heart to Jesus here on earth will guarantee a New Body forever in Heaven!

“Lord Jesus, bring thoughts of Heaven to my mind and help me be ready for Your return, or my departure from this earth, every moment of every day! What a Glory it will be to see You “Face to Face!” Praise Your Holy Name now and forever. Amen.”

 

We Don't Need New Leaders!

 

 

“By the power of His Spirit the Lord God has sent me with this message: People of Israel, I am the holy Lord God, the one who rescues you. For your own good, I teach you, and I lead you along the right path. How I wish that you had obeyed my commands! Your success and good fortune then would have overflowed like a flooding river. Your nation would be blessed with more people than there are grains of sand along the seashore. And I would never have let your country be destroyed.”

ISAIAH 48:16b-19

The solution to the problems experienced by a nation that turns away from God is simple. It has nothing to do with electing better leaders or passing more “conservative” laws!

When a country tries to erase the history of its devotion to God, the Hand of the Almighty will let go.

To make things better, the leaders we have now will do nicely if they are filled with the Holy Spirit and become disciples of the Lord Jesus! It doesn’t matter what they were, or what they are now! God can use them to accomplish His righteous purposes!

“LORD JESUS show us how to pray for our leaders so that You may once again hold our hands and lead us in the way of righteousness! Grab hold of the hearts of those who lead our nation and make them into men and women of God! Praise Your Holy Name now and forever. Amen.”

 

SPIRIT CRAFTED CONSCIENCE

 

 

King Nebuchadnezzar was furious. So he sent for the three young men and said, “I hear that you refuse to worship my gods and the gold statue I have set up. Now I am going to give you one more chance. If you bow down and worship the statue when you hear the music, everything will be all right. But if you don't, you will at once be thrown into a flaming furnace. No god can save you from me.”

Daniel 13:13-15

Daniel's three friends were thrown into the fire for refusing to worship the false god set up by the king!  If you have never heard the story, you need to know that the men survived, unharmed without even the smell of smoke on their clothing!

If the leaders of your nation are requiring that you be unfaithful to the God who made you, you do have a choice.  You can obey them and step outside the protection that comes from being obedient to God, or you can defy them and be faithful to God!

Being obedient to God may send you to the fiery furnace.  But God will either rescue from the flames or use the flames to usher you into Heaven.  There you will stand before His Throne! 

As a follower of Jesus Christ you must always choose obedience to Him, no matter what the consequences.

Spending time with Jesus in prayer, mediation and reading His Word will give you the Spirit Crafted Conscience needed to understand what He wants you to do in every situation!  

 "Lord Jesus, give me the courage to always choose Your Will no matter what the threat that comes for being obedient!  May Your Holy and Righteous Name be praised now and forever.  Amen."

When Jesus' disciples saw what was about to happen, they asked, “Lord, should we attack them with a sword?”  One of the disciples even struck at the high priest's servant with his sword and cut off the servant's right ear.  “Enough of that!” Jesus said. Then he touched the servant's ear and healed it.  Jesus spoke to the chief priests, the temple police, and the leaders who had come to arrest him. He said, “Why do you come out with swords and clubs and treat me like a criminal?  I was with you every day in the temple, and you didn't arrest me. But this is your time, and darkness is in control.”

Luke 22:49-53

Matthew, Mark and John also tell this story, but none of them mentions the fact that Jesus healed the servant's ear!  This final miracle before the Crucifixion was different from all the others.  Instead of this miracle of healing drawing men to faith in Jesus, it simply removed the evidence that would have surely gotten Peter arrested, and for good cause!  

How could the servant of the High Priest testify that his ear had been cut off by Peter, when everyone could see the ear was clearly attached to his head as it had always been?

The story of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ was not to be about how Peter saved Him from the crowd, or about how Peter joined Jesus on his own cross that day.  It is believed that Peter did die on a cross, but that came much later.

The story of Peter's life was about what Jesus did through him and not what Peter did for Jesus!  Your story should be the same.  Don't "live your life for Jesus."  Rather, let Jesus live His life through you so that His will becomes the headline of every story of your life!  

"Lord Jesus, may You be the author of my "Life Story" today.  Live in me and through me each moment of today and every day for the rest of my life.  May Your Name be praised Now and Forever, Amen!"

A city without wise leaders will end up in ruin; a city with many wise leaders will be kept safe.

Proverbs 11:14

If you don't think the Bible speaks to every situation, think again!  I was told of a man who memorized the entire book of Proverbs.  The one who told me complained that the fellow "could not speak two sentences without quoting a proverb."  

The Word of God is a "User's Manual" for life itself.  With the Word of God in your mind you are able to rest easy in the boat of daily living while the storms of life rage on the sea!  

The truth of Proverbs 11:14 is playing out right before our eyes, with foolish leaders allowing their cities to crumble into chaos as they remove the safe guards of security and stability!  Even a small child can see their lack of wisdom.

If the "End of all things" is not soon upon us, future generations will look at our demise and see how we railed at God and became the victims of our own stupidity.  

Instead of fighting against flesh and blood let God be your armor and His Word your Sword.  Draw near to Him and hold tightly to Him today and every day.  

"Lord Jesus, there is foolishness and chaos all around me in the world!  May your wisdom and peace fill my mind and my heart as I wait for Your return and tell others that You are Lord of all!  May Your Holy and Righteous Name be praised now and forever.  Amen."

Then Joshua told the people: Years from now your children will ask you why these rocks are here. Tell them, “The Lord our God dried up the Jordan River so we could walk across. He did the same thing here for us that he did for our people at the Red Sea, because he wants everyone on earth to know how powerful he is. And he wants us to worship only him.”

Joshua 4:21-24 CEV

 
When God led the Children of Israel out of Egypt He did an obvious miracle to mark the moment they escaped!  He did the same thing when He dried up the Jordan River as they entered the Promised Land forty years later.

God, today still wants everyone on earth to know how powerful He is!  So when you are snatched from the grip of Satan, His power will be evident to everyone you know!  And when  you cross over to the Promised Land at the end of your journey here on earth, the waters of the Jordan will part as you leave!

As we live on this earth as Christians we are no longer "slaves to sin" in the captivity of Egypt, but we are not yet standing before His throne in the glories of Heaven!  The day you walked across the Red Sea on dry ground was wonderful, but even more wonderful and glorious will be the day you walk across the Jordan River into the presence of God Himself!

"Thank You Jesus for making a way for all those who follow You to enter into the Throne Room of Heaven and sing Your Praises forever and ever!  Amen."
