One Way to God!

Click here to listen to blog
There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God.  Jesus was truly human, and he gave himself to rescue all of us.  God showed us this at the right time.
1 Timothy 2:5-6

Many, if not most world religions are set up as an attempt to bring men to God!  There is a universal desire among men to honor, esteem and yes, worship a god who is greater than all others.  Men will even imagine that their "god" exists.  Then they dream up lots of ways to honor him and satisfy their need to worship.

But the God who created men with a desire to worship, also provided a way for them to come to Him.  There are not "many ways to God" as some imagine, but there is One God and only One Way to come to Him.  That One Way to God is Jesus Christ!

To believe that Jesus is the only way to God is not to make fun of those who try to get to God a different way. There is nothing humorous about men who are on the road to Hell while they believe they are on the road to Heaven.

There are not many roads that lead to God.  There is only one!  And you can only walk that road in the company of Jesus Christ!

Instead of looking for the road to God, look for Jesus, who can and will bring you to God if you are walking with Him!

"Lord Jesus, I want to walk with You today as You take me ever closer to the One who created me and everything that there is!  And may You be praised forever.  Amen."

When a Nation Falls!

Click here to listen to blog
The angel shouted,“Fallen! Powerful Babylon has fallen and is now the home of demons.  It is the den of every filthy spirit and of all unclean birds, and every dirty and hated animal.   Babylon's evil and immoral wine has made all nations drunk.  Every king on earth has slept with her, and every merchant on earth is rich because of her evil desires.”

Revelation 18:2-3

There are those who believe that the United States is "Babylon" in Revelation 18! The first person I ever heard mention that possibility was David Wilkerson, author of "The Cross and the Switchblade."

If the decline and fall of the United States of America is the direct fulfillment of the prophecy of Revelation 18 what does that mean for you and me as followers of Jesus Christ? When I think I see a Bible passage happening right before my eyes I am tempted to be proud that I was smart enough to "figure it out!"

But that pride is indeed foolish! It would be like a passenger on the Titanic rejoicing because he had come to know that the ship was going to sink!

Truthfully, whether or not the United States is "Babylon" in Revelation 18 is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the United States has done the things that a nation does when it turns away from God and the consequences are always the same!

The good news is that you can be Godly and still live in a godless nation! You can order your life according to the Word of God and not the will of man. You can, with the help of the Holy Spirit stand strong for Jesus when everyone else turns away from God.

"Lord Jesus, when my nation falls away from You help me to stand with my feet firmly planted in Your will! And may You be praised forever. Amen."

When What You Think is Wrong!

Click here to listen to blog.
You may think you are on the right road and still end up dead. Sorrow may hide behind laughter, and happiness may end in sorrow.  You harvest what you plant, whether good or bad.
Proverbs 14:12-14

In the thinking of many people being sincere is regarded as more important than being right!
You are sincere when what you say and do honestly reflects what you believe to be true!  That, however does not remove the consequences of your actions if you are "sincerely wrong!"

You may be a sincere follower of a false god, but that sincerity will do you no good when you stand before the Lord of Heaven and Earth on the Day of Judgment.

As a follower of Jesus Christ it is important that you be sincere, but sincerity alone is not enough!  You can sincerely walk along the "Road to Hell" and believe that the Grace of God will keep you from entering the Gates of Eternal Death!

Never embrace a "theology" that allows you to live like "Hell" while sincerely believing you are on the Road to Heaven!

"Lord Jesus, look into my heart and mind and see if I am sincerely believing any lie!  Keep me on the Road to Heaven today and every day until the Day when You return.  May You be praised forever.  Amen."

The Power of the Resurrection!

Click here to listen to blog
I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used  when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven.  There Christ rules over all forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well.
Ephesians 1:19-21

Have you ever been to a wax museum?  Skilled artists mold and paint wax to look like famous people both living and dead.  If you did not already know that the image was not living, at first glance you might really believe you are looking at a live person!

Without the power of the resurrected Christ in your life you are no more alive than an image in a wax museum.  On the outside you may look just like you should, and as a powerless "Christian" you may even be able to say the "right words" to make others believe that you are indeed alive.  But when the heat of life comes, you will melt as quickly as a figure in a wax museum!

But after the Power of the Resurrection changes you into the image of Jesus Himself, you will appear to be alive because you are!  Don't be satisfied with a life that simply looks like it is filled with the power of God, turn your heart completely to Jesus Christ and let Him and the power of His Resurrection make your heart of wax into a living and breathing disciple of Christ!

"Lord Jesus, help me today to know more of what the Power of the Resurrection can mean for my life.  May my heart come to life because of what You did on the Cross!  And may You be praised forever.  Amen."

Let Jesus be the Next Word You Speak!

Jesus asked a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus had asked him three times if he loved him. So he told Jesus, “Lord, you know everything. You know I love you.”Jesus replied, “Feed my sheep.   I tell you for certain that when you were a young man, you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will hold out your hands. Then others will wrap your belt around you and lead you where you don't want to go.”  Jesus said this to tell how Peter would die and bring honor to God. Then he said to Peter, “Follow me!”

John 21:17-19

Peter had denied knowing Jesus three times, and Jesus, after His resurrection asked Peter three times if he loved Him.

How many times have you denied knowing Jesus? When I am afraid to confess the Name of Jesus because it is risky or hard and maybe even dangerous to do so, then I am like Peter denying Him!

Proclaiming your faith in Jesus when everyone applauds is of little real value. Standing before a congregation of believers and loudly proclaiming that "Jesus is Lord" can simply feed my own pride and even arrogance. But standing before the gates of Hell and confessing that I know and love Jesus Christ is where the reality of my faith is clearly seen by everyone!

Don't search for the easy place to confess that you know Jesus. Look for the place to speak His Name that is hard! Of course, it is true that proclaiming your faith in the face of those who follow Satan can cost you your life on this earth.  But refusing to confess the Name of Jesus can cost you much more than life itself!

Today, be ready for the Name of Jesus to be the next word out of your mouth at any moment. Instead of looking for a "safe and appropriate" time to speak His Name, say "Jesus" when it is not safe, and maybe even not "appropriate." For when is it ever "inappropriate" to utter the Name of the One who created you and everything that there is?

"Lord Jesus, give me the courage today to speak Your Name no matter how risky or dangerous it might be. And may You be praised forever. Amen."

The Blind Man Sees Jesus!

Click here to listen to blog
When Jesus heard what had happened, he went and found the man. Then Jesus asked, “Do you have faith in the Son of Man?”  He replied, “Sir, if you will tell me who he is, I will put my faith in him.”   “You have already seen him,” Jesus answered, “and right now he is talking with you.”  The man said, “Lord, I put my faith in you!” Then he worshiped Jesus.  Jesus told him, “I came to judge the people of this world. I am here to give sight to the blind and to make blind everyone who can see.”

John 9:35-39

The man who was born blind was healed by Jesus, but he still didn't know who Jesus was!  The power of God changed the man's life and restored his vision and yet the man was still in the dark about Jesus.

Jesus still today touches the lives of men and woman who don't know who He is or why He came to this earth!  Every breath you take is a gift from God.  Every time you wake in the morning from a night of sleep you see a world around you that provides all your physical needs by the power of God's Grace!  Every time you are sick, Satan would like that illness to end in death.  But God created your body to fight off the infections that would otherwise destroy you!

One way to build your faith is to ask God to show you how He has, and is touching your life.  Seek to see the ways the love of Jesus is sustaining your life every day.  And as your blind eyes are opened by the power of Jesus look for His face above all else!

"Lord Jesus, I was also born blind!  I could not see the things that You want to show me.  But Jesus You have the power to heal my physical eyes, my spiritual eyes, and the eyes of my heart so that I can see everything you want me to see!  May You be praised forever.  Amen."
