Most Precious People on Earth

I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion! With him were a hundred forty-four thousand, who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.  Then I heard a sound from heaven that was like a roaring flood or loud thunder or even like the music of harps.  And a new song was being sung in front of God's throne and in front of the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn that song, except the one hundred forty-four thousand who had been rescued from the earth.  All of these are pure virgins, and they follow the Lamb wherever he leads. They have been rescued to be presented to God and the Lamb as the most precious people on earth.  They never tell lies, and they are innocent.

Revelation 14: 1 - 5

Who is this group of people who never tell lies and are innocent?  These people are different from others because the Bible says that “all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.”

If you believe that the 144,000 number is an exact and not symbolic number then I have no idea who they are.

But consider the possibility that these precious people are those who died either before they were born or before they reached an age where they would be accountable for their actions.

Listen again to John’s description of them: “They have been rescued to be presented to God and the Lamb as the most precious people on earth.”

With the millions and millions of babies that have been aborted even in recent history, I find it hard to believe that the Bible would not make some reference to them!  If these verses are talking about those babies, I find it a wonderful picture of them following Jesus around Heaven while they sing a song that no one else could learn!  I can’t imagine how beautiful that song will be when we hear it on the Day we enter Eternity!

Remember, the Bible tells us to think about things above!

“Lord Jesus, open our eyes to see things that we cannot see and understand things that we cannot understand.  Praise Your Holy Name, now and forever.  Amen.”

No More War

At the sound of the seventh trumpet, loud voices were heard in heaven. They said, "Now the kingdom of this world belongs to our Lord and to his Chosen One! And he will rule forever and ever!"  Then the twenty-four elders, who were seated on thrones in God's presence, knelt down and worshiped him.

Revelation 11: 15 - 16

Some wars seem to go on forever!  From generation to generation the sons of warriors become fighters themselves in a war that never ends!

The war between Righteousness and Evil has been fought ever since that fateful day in the Garden of Eden when Sin provided the fuel for the first battle.

As a human being today you surely know that the conflict continues to rage as the infection of sin spreads from human to human in attempt to kill us all!

But there is a coming day when the Kingdom of this World will be handed over to Jesus and He will rule forever and ever!  The War will be over!

Heaven will not just be a hiding place from the war between good and evil.  There will be no more war!  Here on earth there will always be “wars and rumors of wars,” but not so in Eternity!  For that you can rejoice, knell down and worship the Lord.

“Lord Jesus, thank You that even the kingdom of this world will one day be ruled completely by You and You alone!  May Your Holy Name be praised now and forever.  Amen.”

Perfume From Heaven

I am grateful that God always makes it possible for Christ to lead us to victory. God also helps us spread the knowledge about Christ everywhere, and this knowledge is like the smell of perfume.  In fact, God thinks of us as a perfume that brings Christ to everyone. For people who are being saved, this perfume has a sweet smell and leads them to a better life. But for people who are lost, it has a bad smell and leads them to a horrible death.

2 Corinthians 2: 14 - 16a

Years ago my favorite “After Shave Lotion” was called “Old Spice.”  It came in a white bottle with a uniquely tapered shape and had a small plastic stopper on top to keep it from spilling.  And the aroma was easily recognized by almost everyone.

Somewhere over the years, men wearing “perfume” went out of style and I never replaced my empty bottle of Old Spice.

With any good after shave lotion, all you had to do was enter the room and within seconds everyone knew you were there by the distinct odor.

Today there are people who claim to be allergic to any kind of perfume and as a result it has been used less and less.

The aroma that accompanies you as a follower of Jesus is also noticeable within seconds when you enter a room.  And those who are also Jesus’ followers find the aroma to be very pleasant. But there are some today who claim to be allergic to the Perfume of Jesus!  To them the aroma is offensive and they demand that you not wear that Perfume in public!

If you are a disciple of Christ, don’t go out without the Perfume of Jesus!  Then everyone will know who you are and more importantly who He is.

“Thank You Jesus, for being the Perfume from Heaven in my life.  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

Don't Forget to Feed the Birds

I tell you not to worry about your life. Don't worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food or clothing?  Look at the birds in the sky! They don't plant or harvest. They don't even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren't you worth more than birds?

Matthew 6: 25 - 26

One of my daily jobs is to put bird seed in the feeders that hang outside our window.  Paying attention to and watching birds is what you do when you get older.  Birds are an amazing part of God’s creation.  If you are not yet fascinated by birds, I think someday you will be.

God not only created the birds, but He watches them and feeds them.  The Bible says that God knows when a sparrow falls to the ground.

Someone said years ago, “Find out what God is doing in the world and ask Him to let you become a part of it.”  One thing that God is doing, according to the Bible, is feeding and caring for birds!  So when I put bird seed in the feeders each morning I am putting my hand to the plow of God!

Of course, feeding birds is not the only thing that God is doing!  God is also fishing for men!  That is what Jesus told the disciples.  He said He would teach them to fish for men!

So as you seek to follow Jesus in fishing for men and  spreading  His Kingdom around the world, don’t forget to feed the birds!  When you become part of what God is doing in the world, you will preach the Good News of Jesus to everyone on earth, but you will also feed the birds!  Feeding birds may seem like a very small thing, but feeding birds is what God does!

“Lord Jesus, help me to put my Hand to the Plow of God in spreading Your Kingdom around the world, but may I also Lord never forget to feed the birds!  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

No Good Reason to Keep Silent

Be sure to pray that God will make a way for us to spread his message and explain the mystery about Christ, even though I am in jail for doing this.  Please pray that I will make the message as clear as possible.  When you are with unbelievers, always make good use of the time.

Colossians 4: 3 - 5

When customers came to his barber shop he always prayed that God would show him how to share the message of Jesus with those who didn’t know Him!  It was closing time when a young man asked if the barber could cut his hair.  The barber apologized, said “no” and closed the shop.  He could “share Jesus” the next time the man came in.  A few days later the barber heard that the young man who wanted the hair cut was murdered that very night!

God will make a way for you to spread the message of Jesus, but you must say yes to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to tell someone about the Lord!

You can be sure that when the Holy Spirit is leading you in any direction, the Enemy of all mankind will try to lead you away from God’s will.   If your “walk with Jesus” is without opposition you should ask the Lord to confirm that you are going the right way!

Satan wants you to get discouraged and quit walking in the way the Lord has told you to go.  He will try everything in his arsenal to stop you from doing what God has called you to do.

Let the attacks of Satan simply confirm that you are indeed walking in the right path!

You can be sure that there is someone who will cross your path today who needs to know more about Jesus.  The Holy Spirit may know that you will be their last opportunity on this earth to hear the Good News.

“Lord Jesus, I can always find a “good reason” not to tell someone about you.  Give me the courage today to ignore all the “good reasons” to keep silent and to speak the Message that all men need to hear!  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

Team Jesus

Let the message about Christ completely fill your lives, while you use all your wisdom to teach and instruct each other. With thankful hearts, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.  Whatever you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks to God the Father because of him.

Colossians 3: 16 - 17

I live in the United States, so we know about the World Cup and pay some attention to it, but nothing like the rest of the world does.  The sport that we become most obsessed with is College Football.  Our “football” is oblong shaped with two pointed ends.

There are people who display passion for their “team” in almost every way!  Team colors are painted on things that can be painted in the yard of their house.  Sometimes even the house is painted with a team color theme. They wear team jerseys often and even tattoo team logos on their bodies!

There is a great difference however, between those who are devoted "fans" to a sports team and the ones who actually play the game!

These verses from Colossians 3 talk about the message about Christ “completely” filling your life! Then everything you do or say will be done in the Name of the Lord!  There will be no doubt who your team is.

Again, everything you do and every word you speak will inform those who see you or hear you that you are an active member of TEAM JESUS, and not just a Fan!

“Lord Jesus, help me today to be bold and not ashamed to tell everyone that You are my Lord and Savior! May the message about You, Jesus fill my life completely!  Praise Your Holy Name, now and forever.  Amen.”

Your Heart in His Hand

Click here to listen to blog

You died with Christ. Now the forces of the universe don't have any power over you. Why do you live as if you had to obey such rules as, "Don't handle this. Don't taste that. Don't touch this.”?

Colossians 2: 20 - 21

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then you have been born a second time.  The first time you were born was when you were separated from your mother’s body and began to breathe on your own.  The second time you were born was when you were separated from the world and began a life that was sustained by the breath of God!

If you are not a follower of Jesus Christ, then you will die twice.  The first time you will die is when your physical body stops functioning and you stop breathing.  The second time you die is when you will be cast into the “fires of Hell” where you will remain forever separated from God!

Disciples of Christ also die twice.  They first die with Jesus to this world and all it’s lusts.  And then they die physically as they transition to an Eternity with Him!

As human beings we do have “free choice,” but it is really only one Choice.  You can Choose to accept Jesus or you can Choose to reject Him!  When you put your Heart in the Hand of Jesus your fate with Him is sealed forever in Heaven!  When you keep your Heart in your own hand and give in to the love of Sin your fate without Jesus is sealed forever in Hell!

Decide today to put your Heart in the Hand of Jesus!  It is a Choice you will never regret!

“Lord Jesus, thank You Lord for making it possible for me to die with You instead of dying forever in the fires of Hell.  May Your Name be praised now and forever. Amen.”

Certified Enemies of God

You used to be far from God. Your thoughts made you his enemies, and you did evil things.  But his Son became a human and died. So God made peace with you, and now he lets you stand in his presence as people who are holy and faultless and innocent.

Colossians 1: 21 - 22

Human beings judge themselves by their actions, but God judges us by our thoughts!  We consider ourselves guiltless if we only think evil thoughts but never act them out.  The problem is that God says that committing the sin of adultery begins with the thought that precedes the deed even if the deed is never done.

It is by our thoughts that we become enemies of God and our actions, of course follow.  We are certified enemies of God before we ever do one thing that is a sin, because our minds have already been there before us!

You will know that you have stopped sinning when you never think about it again!  Sin begins by pondering it in your heart!  You may not be a murderer or a thief, but you have had the thoughts that every murderer or thief has had before they crafted the evil deed.

Romans 12:2 says that when you give your heart to Jesus, He will “change the way you think.”   Then it says you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to Him!

“Lord Jesus, I need You to change the way I think every day.  Help me to never stand on the doorstep of sin because of what I think.  May all my thoughts give Glory to You now and forever. Amen.”

Father Knows Best

Always be glad because of the Lord! I will say it again: Be glad.  Always be gentle with others. The Lord will soon be here.  Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God.  Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.

Philippians 4: 4 - 7

If you don’t pray, you will worry!  Both worry and prayer focus on things that need fixing in your world.  When you worry about anything, you are sure that there is no solution to the problem, but when you pray you bring that difficulty and lay it at the feet of God!

The peace that is “not understandable” comes not from the prayer being answered.  The peace comes from walking away from your concern after you have firmly placed it before the Father!

Part of faith is knowing that God will “handle a situation” even before He does!  If you are only at peace after the answer comes, then your peace is not faith based.

When your concern is on God’s To Do List it is as good as done!  Does that mean He will do everything the way you want Him to do it?  Certainly not!  It reminds me of an old television program that was popular in the 1950’s called Father Knows Best!  Your Father, God knows best about everything, and if you leave the decision of what to do about a situation to Him, it will be the very best outcome possible!

“Lord Jesus, thank You for the Peace that comes from belonging to You and trusting You for everything.  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

From Darkness to Light

About noon I saw a light brighter than the sun. It flashed from heaven on me and on everyone traveling with me.  We all fell to the ground. Then I heard a voice say to me in Aramaic, "Saul, Saul, why are you so cruel to me? It's foolish to fight against me!"  "Who are you?" I asked. Then the Lord answered, "I am Jesus! I am the one you are so cruel to.  Now stand up. I have appeared to you, because I have chosen you to be my servant. You are to tell others what you have learned about me and what I will show you later."  The Lord also said, "I will protect you from the Jews and from the Gentiles that I am sending you to.  I want you to open their eyes, so that they will turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me they will become part of God's holy people."

Acts 26: 13 - 18

When I asked the former Imam how we as Christians should feel about Muslims who want to kill us because of our faith, he said: “Love them and pray for them and remember that they are in the darkness and you are in the light!”

Paul thought he was obeying God when he found Christians, imprisoned and even ordered them to be killed.  Paul was not just an enemy of the concept and theology of Christianity, he was a “hands on” man of total opposition to Jesus!

The most difficult to understand part of the Cross of Christ is that Jesus suffered and died to provide forgiveness and Eternal Salvation to those who were His greatest enemies!  Jesus loved His enemies to the fullest extent of that concept!  When Jesus heard the shouts calling for His crucifixion it was a chorus of voices of people who Jesus loved!

It must be a thrilling experience for a doctor to be able to restore the sight of people who are blinded by cataracts.  But the most exciting of all is to enable men and women who are blinded by sin to be able to go From Darkness to Light!

“Thank You Jesus for showing the way for all men in darkness to come into Your Glorious Light.  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

Unspoken Miracle

Click here to listen to blog

On the first day of the week we met to break bread together. Paul spoke to the people until midnight because he was leaving the next morning.  In the upstairs room where we were meeting, there were a lot of lamps.  A young man by the name of Eutychus was sitting on a window sill. While Paul was speaking, the young man got very sleepy. Finally, he went to sleep and fell three floors all the way down to the ground. When they picked him up, he was dead.  Paul went down and bent over Eutychus. He took him in his arms and said, "Don't worry! He's alive."  After Paul had gone back upstairs, he broke bread, and ate with us. He then spoke until dawn and left.  Then the followers took the young man home alive and were very happy.

Acts 20: 7 - 12

This "miracle" of Eutychus being restored to life after falling out of a three story window while Paul was preaching is really quite unique.  The Bible says that Eutychus was dead after the fall, but he was dead for just a few minutes.  Paul went down and "took the boy in his arms" and declared him to be "Alive."  Paul did not even use the event to demonstrate and declare how wonderful the power of God was in raising Eutychus from death!

Instead of Paul declaring this to be a "healing service," he simply took a break for a meal and then preached some more until the sun came up!

You may have heard people say that they have an "unspoken prayer request."  This story of Eutychus is about an "Unspoken Miracle."  Some assume that Paul performed the miracle and raised Eutychus from death.  These verses do not specifically say that is what happened.  Quite obviously, the power of God raised Eutychus back to life, but it does not say that Paul ask God to do it!  Paul was the one who first noticed that the boy was alive again.

I believe the Power of God is at work in the world around us every day.  Of course, God's response to the requests of faith are seen as miraculous events, but He also works apart from our prayers to accomplish His Will!

Life itself is a miracle that is totally supported by God!  Without His Power every animal, plant and human being on earth would die!

God's unspoken miracles are all around you!  Praise Him for them, as well as the miracles you ask for and see Him accomplish!

"Lord Jesus, thank You for working every day to sustain all life on earth!  Give me the courage today to speak to everyone about Jesus, but also help me not to forget Your Unspoken Miracles!  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen."

No Message from God

I, the LORD, also promise you a terrible shortage, but not of food and water. You will hunger and thirst to hear my message.  You will search everywhere-- from north to south, from east to west. You will go all over the earth, seeking a message from me, the LORD. But you won't find one.

Amos 8: 11 - 12

What would it be like to live in a world with no Message from God?  There, of course would be no Bible and no one saying that God had anything at all to say about a situation!  There would be no standard of morality.  All laws would be simply one group enforcing their will on another!

Countries today that, “Officially reject God” show us a little of what it would be like.  A strong-man leader can become “god” to the people and demand their worship and total loyalty.  If the people displease such a leader he can kill them like ants at a picnic and feel no guilt about it!

But there is no shortage of messages from God today!  The Bible is filled with God’s messages!  The rainbow still exists reminding God not to destroy the earth with a flood again!  The heavens themselves declare the Glory of God!

When will this “terrible shortage” of messages from God occur?  Amos does not say when it will happen or if it has already been fulfilled, but you can know for sure that, “man cannot live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes out of the mouth of God!”

Messages from God are everywhere today and we must listen to them and obey His Word!

“Lord Jesus, thank You again for speaking to our hearts Your Message which gives us hope for all of Eternity.  Praise Your Holy Name, now and forever.  Amen.”

Nothing is as Wonderful

Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage. All I want is Christ and to know that I belong to him. I could not make myself acceptable to God by obeying the Law of Moses. God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ.  All I want is to know Christ and the power that raised him to life. I want to suffer and die as he did, so that somehow I also may be raised to life.

Philippians 3: 8 - 11

It has been more than 50 years since I first heard and sang the song “To Be Like Jesus.”  The words simply said that, “all I want” is to be like Him!  With great sincerity and I know an honest heart I wanted to be like Jesus, but I knew little of what that would mean in my life.  And I am sure that I still don’t know the depth of what being like Jesus will mean for the rest of my days here on earth!

Being like Jesus is, first of all the deliberate act of giving up Glory!  Jesus did not seek the first place in His life here on earth, but rather He sought the last and lowest place!

Being like Jesus is when you are the target for the wrath of Satan!  Jesus, more than Job was pummeled by the Devil’s desire to destroy the object of God’s approval!

Being like Jesus is when you live your entire life for the sake of others!  Sacrifice and service are the things that make you like your Lord!  Jesus came to serve and not to be served!

Jesus came to rescue us from sin and death, not to remake the world into “Heaven on earth.”  You can be like Jesus and have the most amazing relationship with Him while living in the most godless culture imaginable!  Jesus overcame the world instead of remodeling it!

“Lord Jesus, I do want to know You better today than ever before.  Show me how I can be more like You!  Praise Your Holy Name, now and forever.  Amen.’

The Wonderful Love of Jesus!

Every time I think of you, I thank my God.  And whenever I mention you in my prayers, it makes me happy.  This is because you have taken part with me in spreading the good news from the first day you heard about it.  God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won't stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns.

Philippians 1: 3 - 6

How long had you been a follower of Jesus Christ before you began to tell other people the Good News of what Jesus gives to everyone who comes to Him in faith?

If you are like the Christians in Philippi you told someone else about it the very same day that you heard the message!  In North America, where I live it doesn’t usually happen that way.  “Evangelism” comes later, after you have read books, taken classes and otherwise been “qualified” to proclaim the message of Jesus.  Sometimes we never get to the point of telling other people about Jesus.  We believe that the “paid professional” Christians are the ones who should do that.

The reason the Philippians began to tell other people about Jesus and what He did for them on the very first day they heard about it is this: The message about Jesus is not just Good News, it is rather the Best News anyone could ever hear.  Jesus is not only the answer to every question, the solution to every problem and the fulfillment of every pure and righteous imagination, but He is also the Meaning of Life itself.  Jesus provides the perfect purpose to your existence!  There is no treasure on earth that even comes close to the value of knowing Jesus!

So, if you are not telling other people about Jesus today, then you should go back and spend time listening to the message yourself.  When you really hear what Jesus is offering those who come to Him, you will find it impossible to keep quiet about it!

“Lord Jesus, burn Your message on my heart.  I don’t need the courage to tell others about You, I simply need to understand what the message truly is!  Then nothing can stop me from telling everyone I meet about Your Wonderful Love!  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

The Strength of the Lord

Finally, let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong.  Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil's tricks.  We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. So put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day comes, you will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm.

Ephesians 6: 10 - 13

Machines are truly amazing.  An old, tired and even sick man can move tons of dirt in only a short time if he has and knows how to use a machine called a “back hoe.”  A back hoe uses a gasoline or diesel engine to pump oil through lines which move “hydraulic cylinders” and when attached to a large scoop can do the work of many men working with only shovels.  Every machine multiplies the efforts of a man to do more than he could otherwise do!

The difference between prosperous nations and those who still struggle even to grow enough food for their people is basically the use of machines.

The ultimate “machine” is the Lord Himself.  His power is so great that He needs no assistance to accomplish anything!

It is an astonishing truth, but God makes His strength available to you as a follower of Jesus!  One man or woman, filled with the Holy Spirit can accomplish more than ten thousand men working with their own strength!

There is an old joke about how silly it is to bring a knife to a gun fight.  It is not a joke, but you are absolutely foolish if you only bring human weapons to a battle with “forces and authorities and rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world.”  When the “Evil Day” comes, and it will, make sure that the strength of the Lord has made you strong! Then you will be standing firm when the battle is over!

“Lord Jesus, help me to fight the battle today with the weapons You have provided.  I am weak, but You are strong!  May Your Holy Name be praised now and forever.  Amen.”

Wonderful Plan for Your Life!

These are evil times, so make every minute count.  Don't be stupid. Instead, find out what the Lord wants you to do.

Ephesians 5: 16 - 17

Years ago I first heard the statement, “God has a wonderful plan for your life!”  While I was deeply immersed in pain and suffering, heartache and despair, those words seemed quite “trite” and hard for me to believe to say the least.

Where is the “wonderful” part of losing a child, or losing a career?  How is it good that so many things “go wrong” and I am confused and literally spinning in my head about “what is going on?”  If God has a wonderful plan for my life, then I must be missing that plan in a big way!

And as life draws to a close simply because the years are mounting up more quickly every day, how can the “wonderful plan” of God for me include all kinds of physical limitations as my body grows weaker every year?

The answer to all those questions is really quite simple: When I find out what the Lord wants me to do today, and I do it, then His wonderful plan for my life is being fulfilled!  You see, the “wonderful” thing about God’s plan for me may have nothing to do with my own personal peace and comfort.  It may be and frankly, I believe usually is all about others!

As I grow more like Jesus, then my life, like His pours out God’s blessings on others.  And don’t forget that what God wants you to do today is something that He will give you the strength to accomplish!  It may only be a word, a smile, a simple touch of simply or encouragement, but if it is what He wants you to do, then it is part of His wonderful plan!

Find out what God wants you to do today and then do it.  No one is too old or too young, to poor or too weak, too uneducated or too ignorant to do what God wants them to do today!  The reward for doing God’s Will today is that you will know how Jesus felt when He went to the Cross!

“Lord Jesus, bless me with another opportunity to do Your Will!  Help me to have the very heart of Jesus as I walk through this day.  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

The Love of Christ!

Click here to listen to blog
God is wonderful and glorious. I pray that his Spirit will make you become strong followers and that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. Stand firm and be deeply rooted in his love.  I pray that you and all of God's people will understand what is called wide or long or high or deep.  I want you to know all about Christ's love, although it is too wonderful to be measured. Then your lives will be filled with all that God is.  I pray that Christ Jesus and the church will forever bring praise to God. His power at work in us can do far more than we dare ask or imagine. Amen.

Ephesians 3: 16 - 21

God wants His children to know “all about” Christ’s love, even though it is too wonderful to be measured!  How can you know everything there is to know about something that you can’t even measure?  It is indeed a mystery.

I knew a man once who had memorized the entire New Testament.  He could recite every verse in the Bible that told the story of Jesus!  Does that mean that he knew Jesus and all about the Love that the Savior has for us?  It does not! You can know all the facts of a biography without knowing the person and certainly without knowing the love that comes from the heart of that man or woman.

You see, the Love of Christ is not measured.  Christ’s love is like an ocean and when you come to Him in faith you are transformed to be able to live and breathe while fully submerged in that love!

It is like the watery world of an unborn baby who gets everything he or she needs from the mother who carries the child.  The Love of Jesus gives you everything you need!  What could you possibly find necessary that His Hand has not provided?

Perhaps it might be said that the Love of Christ is the Womb of Heaven as it sustains us and prepares us for the Day when we will come forth to live with Jesus forever!

“Lord Jesus, I do want to know all about You, but even more than that Lord, I need to feel Your love for me and be touched by You during every moment of time I am still alive on this earth! Jesus I cannot live without Your Love.   May Your Holy Name be praised now and forever.  Amen.”

I AM - Coming Soon

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" Everyone who hears this should say, "Come!" If you are thirsty, come! If you want life-giving water, come and take it. It's free!  Here is my warning for everyone who hears the prophecies in this book: If you add anything to them, God will make you suffer all the terrible troubles written in this book.  If you take anything away from these prophecies, God will not let you have part in the life-giving tree and in the holy city described in this book.  The one who has spoken these things says, "I am coming soon!" So, Lord Jesus, please come soon!

Revelation 22: 17 - 20

Whenever I see the words “I Am” they remind me of Words God spoke to Moses.  When Moses ask God who He was, so Moses could tell they people who sent him, God said to tell them “I Am” had sent him.

This, next to the last verse in the entire Bible, reminds me of a large sign outside a theater that says “I AM - Coming Soon!”

There are those who spend lots of time pondering the prophecies about the return of Jesus!  They like to look at the world around them and see if this might be the time just before the return of Jesus Christ!  They are often criticized for being too concerned about the return of Jesus and not enough about living as His follower now, whether or not His return is soon.

It sounds reasonable enough, but consider this: Two men are followers of Jesus and one believes the return of Jesus will be a long time from now, probably after he has already died.  The other man get’s up everyday thinking that this may indeed be the Day when Jesus will return.  Do you think there daily lives will be the same?  Of course not!

The man who believes the return of Jesus will not be soon can put off every leading of the Spirit and tell God that he will be obedient someday.  The man who expects the soon return of Jesus will drop everything and obey the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit, because there may not be a later time to do it!

Live today as if this were not just your last day on earth, but more importantly, live as if this were the Day on which Jesus will return!  Then you will not “Procrastinate Doing the Will of God.”  Putting off until tomorrow what God wants you to do today is the same as saying to God “I will not obey” because you have no guarantee that for you there will be a tomorrow on this earth!

“Lord Jesus, help me today to be obedient to everything You want me to do.  And Lord let me expect to see You return before this Day ends!  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”

Jesus Wipes Away Tears!

Click here to listen to blog

I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and so had the sea.  Then I saw New Jerusalem, that holy city, coming down from God in heaven. It was like a bride dressed in her wedding gown and ready to meet her husband.  I heard a loud voice shout from the throne: God's home is now with his people. He will live with them, and they will be his own. Yes, God will make his home among his people.  He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever.  Then the one sitting on the throne said: I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted.

Revelation 21: 1 - 5

When a mother wipes the tears from the eyes of her baby there is much more happening than just the removal of the tears!  When your tears are being wiped away you are almost always being held tightly in the arms of the one who is removing them.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ here on earth, I would encourage you to imagine the beautiful relationship that you will have with Him in Heaven!  He will wipe your tears and in every way fill you with Peace and Joy forever.  The beat of your heart will mirror the beat of His Heart and it will for all eternity.  You will have a permanent place in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The house I live in here on earth was built almost 100 years ago and it certainly does not look like new.  But the place that we will have in Heaven will be new every day!  There will be no “ravages of time” because there will be no time!

Think about a relationship with Jesus that never grows old and is not attacked by all the things that destroy relationships here on earth!  The most wonderful human relationship here on earth only touches the “hem of the garment” of what it will like with Jesus forever in Heaven!

The best part of my relationship with Jesus is already in effect here on earth.  The most wonderful thing is this: Jesus Loves Me!  It is the title of a simple children’s song and the deepest theological concept imaginable!  Jesus Loves Me!

“Lord Jesus, I need You today to wipe my tears and hold me close!  But Lord I am amazed beyond words to know that You love me!  How can I but follow You and give myself to You today and everyday for the rest of my life here on earth.  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever. Amen.”
