Jesus Talks to Trees!

Listen to this blog.

When Jesus got up the next morning, he was hungry. He started out for the city, and along the way he saw a fig tree. But when he came to it, he found only leaves and no figs. So he told the tree, “You will never again grow any fruit!” Right then the fig tree dried up.
The disciples were shocked when they saw how quickly the tree had dried up.  But Jesus said to them, “If you have faith and don't doubt, I promise you can do what I did to this tree. And you will be able to do even more. You can tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it will.

If you have faith when you pray, you will be given whatever you ask for.”
Matthew 21:18-22
There is a famous song from a Broadway musical that begins with the line, "I talk to the trees, but they don't listen to me." Jesus cannot sing that song, because when He talks to the trees they do listen!
The Word of God not only called everything into existence, but still controls it all. If God told the sun not to set today, it would most certainly stay in the sky. If God tells the Red Sea to part it would do it again. When God speaks all of creation responds even as He has spoken.
There is one exception to this rule, and that exception is your heart. God has spoken through His Word to the hearts of men and women and they have said "No!" to God.
Like a rebellious child who stubbornly refuses to obey his parents we declare by our actions that we will not obey God! We have even carefully identified scriptures that seem to tell us that we can go to Heaven without being obedient to the Word of God. So we convince ourselves that we are saved even though we refuse to obey God!
All I can say is this: Disobedience is not good ground on which to be standing when you come before God on the Day of Judgment.
"Lord, help me to be so obedient to You that when You come looking for fruit in my life tomorrow morning, You will find it! Help me Lord to Trust and Obey because there is no other way to be 'Happy in Jesus.' Amen."
