God Doesn’t Fear Us!

If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the LORD destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God.

Deuteronomy 8:19-20

As I write this there is a national news story in the U.S. about a 79 year old politician changing political parties. It really doesn’t matter which party he is leaving or which one he is joining, it is truly pathetic. Why would a politician after a lifetime of espousing one political philosophy suddenly turn to another one that is very different? Reports say that he feels threatened by what the polls say about his prospects for victory in the next election.

Why would a nation which inscribed on its money “In God We Trust” abandon God after more than 200 years and proclaim to the world that “We are not a Christian nation?”

That statement which came from the mouth of the President of the United States is an official proclamation to God that His help is not wanted or needed.

Immediately after the 911 attacks the Congress stood on the steps of the Capitol building and sang “God bless America.” Apparently such a “religious show” would not be tolerated today if such an attack occurred again.

Deuteronomy 8 clearly says that God does destroy nations for not obeying Him. Are we on His list to bless or destroy?

The problems we are in today are not ones of social policy, fiscal policy or political orientation. If we were still a “God fearing” nation then adjusting our policies might solve our problems.

The shocking bottom line to our situation is this:

And hang on for your life, because ---
