Jesus Speaks My Language

On the day of Pentecost all the Lord's followers were together in one place.  Suddenly there was a noise from heaven like the sound of a mighty wind! It filled the house where they were meeting.  Then they saw what looked like fiery tongues moving in all directions, and a tongue came and settled on each person there.  The Holy Spirit took control of everyone, and they began speaking whatever languages the Spirit let them speak.  Many religious Jews from every country in the world were living in Jerusalem.  And when they heard this noise, a crowd gathered. But they were surprised, because they were hearing everything in their own languages.  They were excited and amazed, and said: Don't all these who are speaking come from Galilee?  Then why do we hear them speaking our very own languages?  Some of us are from Parthia, Media, and Elam. Others are from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, parts of Libya near Cyrene, Rome, Crete, and Arabia. Some of us were born Jews, and others of us have chosen to be Jews. Yet we all hear them using our own languages to tell the wonderful things God has done.  Everyone was excited and confused. Some of them even kept asking each other, "What does all this mean?"

Acts 2: 1 - 6

Have you ever been witness to the undeniable power of God being miraculously displayed before men?  If you have, then you can certainly relate to the response of the people who were "excited, confused" and didn't understand what it all meant when they heard the followers of Jesus speaking languages that they had never learned.

When someone knows more than one language it is usually true that one of his languages could be called his "heart language."  That would be the one that he uses to communicate about matters of the heart.  A man may know many languages, but for him expressions of personal feelings and love are best communicated in his heart language.

Here is an exciting and amazing truth to ponder.  Jesus speaks your heart language!  The Holy Spirit will clearly and powerfully lay out in your heart language His will for every step you take in life!  No language on the face of the earth is foreign to God.  In fact, at the Tower of Babel, God was the author of every language!

"Thank You Jesus, that You not only know my Heart Language, but You also know my heart and everything about it.  May my heart be given to You in every way and at every moment today and always.  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen."
