Truly Love Others!

Click here to listen to blog

If we truly love others and live as Christ did in this world, we won't be worried about the day of judgment.  A real love for others will chase those worries away. The thought of being punished is what makes us afraid. It shows that we have not really learned to love.  We love because God loved us first.  But if we say we love God and don't love each other, we are liars. We cannot see God. So how can we love God, if we don't love the people we can see?  The commandment that God has given us is: "Love God and love each other!"

1 John 4: 8 - 11

What do these verses mean when it says we must "truly love others and live as Christ did in this world?"  Having the love of God in your heart does not give you the privilege of loving one and hating another!  It does not say that we are to "truly love some others."

When you have the love of God in your heart, everyone, even your enemies become the object of your love!  To live as Christ did means that you give of yourself for the sake of those that you love and that means everyone!

Test your heart by asking this question: Do I truly love even the most unattractive, in every way person I know?  The Bible clearly says that we do not fight against flesh and blood.  The man or woman who seems to be totally committed to evil in this world is not your enemy or the enemy of God, but rather that person is a captive of Satan!  And the love of God living in your heart can draw them back to the Creator of all!

Guard your heart and mind today against the hate that Satan wants you to feel toward those who oppose God and everything that is good and right. Ask God to bless them again with a renewed call on their lives.  Then the enemy you thought you had will become the brother or sister you certainly need!

"Lord Jesus, thank You that every living human being can come to You in repentance and restoration!  Your Blood washes us clean and restores a right relationship with God.  May Your Name be praised now and forever.  Amen."
