The Power of God!

Dear friends, don't be surprised or shocked that you are going through testing that is like walking through fire.

Be glad for the chance to suffer as Christ suffered. It will prepare you for even greater happiness when he makes his glorious return.

Count it a blessing when you suffer for being a Christian. This shows that God's glorious Spirit is with you. But you deserve to suffer if you are a murderer, a thief, a criminal, or a busybody. Don't be ashamed to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God that you belong to him.

God has already begun judging his own people. And if his judgment begins with us, imagine how terrible it will be for those who refuse to obey his message. The Scriptures say,
“If good people barely escape,
what will happen to sinners
and to others
who don't respect God?”
I Peter 4:12-18

People in the United States have become totally dependent on electricity. When the power goes out it only takes a little while for the suffering to begin. If it is summer they have no way to keep cool. If their refrigerators stop running the food supply is soon ruined. And almost everything they do all day long depends on a constant supply of power.

The "survivalists" among us have made preparations to live without external power. They have alternate sources of energy and stored up food supplies that can last them even for years in some cases. It is the modern day definition of "rugged individualist."

Have you become a Christian "survivalist?" Do you have plans to live your life nicely without power from on high? Are you able to get along without God in your life?

It certainly is a good thing to be prepared when the electricity in your house goes out. But it is quite the opposite when you are prepared to live your life without power from God!

Never install a spiritual back up source of power. If you have one now, get rid of it!

The power of God in your life will never go away unless you throw the switch yourself.

One stark difference between electricity and God's power is this: You must be careful to not use much electricity each month or the bill will be shocking. But Jesus Christ has already paid for an unlimited amount of God's power in your life. Just leave the lights on and enjoy the Power of God!
