He deserves all praise
in the city where he lives.
His holy mountain,
beautiful and majestic,
brings joy to all on earth.
Mount Zion, truly sacred,
is home for the Great King.
God is there to defend it
and has proved to be
its protector.
Kings joined forces
to attack the city,
5but when they saw it,
they were terrified
and ran away.
They trembled all over
like women giving birth
or like seagoing ships
wrecked by eastern winds.
We had heard about it,
and now we have seen it
in the city of our God,
the LORD All-Powerful.
This is the city that God
will let stand forever.
Psalm 48:1-8
When a man opposes God and spends his time fighting against the will of the Almighty all it takes is one moment of "Eternal Truth" and he will run for his life! All the human weapons a man can gather are like going after a lion with a toy gun.
The Bible says that every knee will bow and that includes the enemies of God. Every man will be overwhelmed by the unimaginable greatness of God Almighty!
It is good for your faith to ponder the greatness of God. God is bigger than your problems. God is more powerful than your enemies. God is wiser than the combined wisdom of everyone on earth. God's plan will never fail. God's Word will never lie. God's love will never cease. And one day, maybe soon, all those who love Jesus will be able to say: "We had heard about it, and now we have seen it in the city of our God, the Lord All-Powerful."
It is the city that God will let stand forever! Amen.
