Listen to this blog.
Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing threats and murder
against the disciples of the Lord. He
went to the high priest and requested letters from him to the synagogues in
Damascus, so that if he found any men or women who belonged to the Way, he
might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
As he traveled and was nearing Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly
flashed around him. Falling to the
ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
Acts 9:1-4
He was a terrorist on the way to Jihad. Members of his cell were with him on the
road to Syria to at least kidnap some infidels if not kill them. Then without warning Jesus appeared to Saul
in a great light and the direction of Saul’s life changed forever.
This story is being repeated today all over the world. Those who are determined to destroy followers
of Jesus are themselves becoming “Jesus followers” after having a dream or seeing
a vision that gives them a clear call on their lives. You can read some of these stories in a book
called “Miraculous Movements” by Jerry Trousdale. The names have been changed to protect the
redeemed, but the stories are real.
Saul’s name was changed after he saw Jesus on the road and
he became known as Paul who would be used by God to write much of the New
Testament. God is doing again what He
did before.
So the next time you hear about a terrorist or see one on
the television don’t forget that this man may be only one dream or vision away
from becoming your brother in Christ.
And, oh yes it is alright to go ahead and love him now. God does!
