Love Defined!

Click here to listen to blog

God sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. We saw his Son and are now telling others about him. God stays one with everyone who openly says Jesus is the Son of God. This is how we stay one with God and are sure God loves us.

God is love. If we keep on loving others, we will stay one in our hearts with God, and he will stay one with us. If we truly love others and live as Christ did in this world, we won't be worried about the day of judgment. A real love for others will chase those worries away. The thought of being punished is what makes us afraid. It shows we have not really learned to love.

We love because God loved us first. But if we say we love God and don't love each other, we are liars. We cannot see God. So how can we love God, if we don't love the people we can see?  The commandment that God has given us is: “Love God and love each other!”

1 John 4:14-21

Love is a word that is poorly defined at best in this fallen world. We use the word Love to describe the strength of our positive feelings about someone or even some thing. We have even given the word a strong sexual connotation. The reason we have such difficulty with the word "Love" is that Love is the essence of God Himself.

When a man or woman truly loves, the very nature of God is swirling around every loving thought or action. That is why Satan attacks marriage in such a direct assault. A happy, loving marriage is indeed the appetizer for Heaven! What we taste here with such ecstasy will be a full course meal forever!

The choice is yours. You can rummage through the garbage dump of life looking for something that is barely edible or you can sit down with Jesus for the most amazing menu of eternal delights!

"Lord I want to know the Love of God in my life. Help me to know You better by loving those people around me. Today Lord, show me how. Amen."
