Some people brought their children to Jesus, so he could place his hands on them and pray for them. His disciples told the people to stop bothering him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and don't try to stop them! People who are like these children belong to God's kingdom.” After Jesus had placed his hands on the children, he left.
Matthew 19:13-15
When you were a little child did someone bring you to Jesus? Have you ever questioned the conversion of a child because they were "too young" to make a serious commitment to the Lord?
Is a child too young to love his mother? Is it required that you come to know the corruption of this world before your love for God is real? We have glorified the experience of the man or woman deeply caught in sin who turns to Jesus and ignored the one who turns to Christ as a little child and remains a faithful follower all the days of his life.
Don't forget that every man has sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God and even a child who turns to Jesus must be cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb. But there is much self inflicted pain and suffering that can be avoided by coming to Jesus early in your life and walking with Him every day.
"Lord, help me to remember what it was like to be a child. I want to hold on to the simple faith I had as a child. Place Your hands on me like You did on the children who were brought to You in the story in Matthew 19. I not only want to be like a child, I want to be Your child, in Your presence and feel Your hands touching me today! Amen."
