At War with Satan!

When the dragon realized it had been thrown down to the earth, it tried to make trouble for the woman who had given birth to a son.  But the woman was given two wings like those of a huge eagle, so she could fly into the desert. There she would escape from the snake and be taken care of for a time, two times, and half a time.  The snake then spewed out water like a river to sweep the woman away.   But the earth helped her and swallowed the water that had come from the dragon's mouth.   This made the dragon terribly angry with the woman. So it started a war against the rest of her children. They are the people who obey God and are faithful to what Jesus did and taught.

Revelation 12:13-17

I often hear someone say that as Christians we should be involved in "spiritual warfare," as if that is a special thing to do. The truth is that Satan has declared war on every follower of Jesus Christ. And that war is raging right now. When you decided to let your life be controlled by the Spirit of God and be obedient to the Word of God, you became a preferred target of the Devil.

You will harassed, tempted, and continually encouraged to be "unfaithful" to Jesus! Satan will make it his purpose to lure you away from the Lord. He will entice you with promises of the pleasures of this life if you will only deny that you know Jesus. He will threaten you with harm and even death if you remain true to your faith in Jesus.

If you are not at war with Satan, then you might want to examine your own faith to see if you really are a follower of Jesus. Jesus followers are all in a daily battle with the Enemy of God!

It is being said even by those in the world today that if you refuse to recognize who your enemy is and that there really is a war going on, you cannot prevail in the struggle. Many Christians ignore the war that Satan has declared on them and even refuse to recognize that the Devil is their enemy. Wake up and be a believer prepared for battle.

"Lord Jesus, give me Your eyes to see the world around me and to recognize the war that Satan has declared on You and Your followers. Give me the faith to trust You every day and to see Satan defeated in every attempt he makes to draw me away from You. And may You Lord Jesus be praised forever. Amen."
