From the temple I heard a voice shout to the seven angels, “Go and empty the seven bowls of God's anger on the earth.” The first angel emptied his bowl on the earth. At once ugly and painful sores broke out on everyone who had the mark of the beast and worshiped the idol.
Revelation 16:1-2
There is a widespread misconception about the nature of Almighty God. Many people believe that God has no concern about whether or not He is the one who is worshiped by those He created. That is not and has never been true. "Freedom of Religion" in the history of the United States originally meant that you had the freedom to worship God as you understood the Bible. It did not mean that we would stand for and die for your right to go to Hell!
The Bible does not say that God is only interested in how sincere you are about worshiping Baal or any other false god. Heaven is not prepared for those who are "honest" in their rejection of Jesus Christ.
"Freedom of Religion" today is just another form of being "politically correct." The Bible certainly does allow for different understandings of your faith in Jesus. Some are convicted that they should not eat meat, and some are certain that eating meat is absolutely allowed by God. You can walk in relationship with Jesus and have either position. But to embrace and fellowship false gods in the name of Freedom of Religion is not pleasing to God.
God Himself gives lost men the right to believe a lie and worship that which is false, but He also gives me the command to preach the good news of Jesus Christ to those who are lost. Their right to believe the lie does not remove my obligation to warn them of the fires of Hell!
You cannot stop men from choosing rebellion against God and the eternal fires of Hell, but you can make certain that they do not go to Hell without first being warned of their sin and its consequences!
"Lord Jesus, give me the courage to stand today and proclaim the truth of Your Word and call the lost to come back to You and be saved. And may You Lord Jesus be praised forever. Amen."
