Soon Coming?

"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken."

Luke 21:24-26

Do you worry about the future? Are the “best laid plans of men” falling apart? “Oh don’t worry; the stock market is coming back.” Many people are realizing that our world is a house of cards that can topple with the least provocation. It is indeed a scary world out there.

For those who have trusted in the things of this world the times are terrible. For those who have trusted in Jesus the times are growing more encouraging.

Jesus never promised that this world will continue forever. In fact, it will definitely not continue forever. It will come to a crashing halt at some point and the reign of Jesus will be ushered in.

So what do we do right now? Are there good investments for this time? Are there stores of supplies we should lay aside in preparation for famine and turmoil? The answer is simple. All the preparations we can make for massive shortages are only temporary in holding off the pain. With a large storehouse of food we can sustain ourselves for a few more days than those around us, but what then? It is not wrong to make physical preparations, but the most important thing is this: TURN YOUR HEART TO JESUS!

This is the time to repent of your sins and cry out to Jesus to control your life through the Holy Spirit!

Just before the baby is born there is great joy in anticipation, and the temptation to worry about the coming event. If the new parents to be are paralyzed by the worry they will miss most of the joy. The EVENT that is coming to the world is the same. Those who don’t believe in Jesus can only worry or anesthetize themselves to reality. Those who believe in Jesus can prepare their hearts for the joy of the greatest EVENT in all of human history!

If the labor pains are upon us, the baby will come, and will come soon!
