No More Curse!

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign forever and ever.

Revelation 22:1-5

Did you know that we all live in a world that is cursed? God delivered the curse after Adam and Eve decided to go it alone. The Fall of Man brought on the curse of God.

Those of us who grew up in North America were carefully taught not to believe in evil spirits and curses. “It’s just a bunch of pretend when someone pronounces a curse on you.” But what if the one who delivered the curse was Almighty God? Re-read the story of Adam and Eve and see what the curse of God did to our world. It brought thorns, pain, suffering, and death!

Each one of those parts of the curse is like the hub of a wheel with thousands of spokes. The curse of God touches everyone and that touch is felt all of the time.

Death itself is part of the curse. So the very last thing anyone does on this earth is to feel the power of the curse as they die. But then there will be no more curse for those who know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

When you are sick you never know how bad you feel until you get well. I still remember waking up one morning after a strong bout of influenza with the wonderful “I’m well” feeling! Only then do you know how bad it was. When we wake up in Heaven with Jesus we will know the wonderful freedom of living without the curse!

Those who don’t know Jesus often spend their lives trying to reverse the curse through all kinds of innovation and technology. They may temporarily reverse the impact of the curse, but they can never take it away. No matter how long you extend life, death still waits for you in the end.

Those who know Jesus should spend their lives telling people about the One who can save them from death and who will take the curse away on that Day in Glory!
