Always be glad because of the Lord! I will say it again: Be glad. Always be gentle with others. The Lord will soon be here. Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.
Philippians 4: 4 - 7
If you don’t pray, you will worry! Both worry and prayer focus on things that need fixing in your world. When you worry about anything, you are sure that there is no solution to the problem, but when you pray you bring that difficulty and lay it at the feet of God!
The peace that is “not understandable” comes not from the prayer being answered. The peace comes from walking away from your concern after you have firmly placed it before the Father!
Part of faith is knowing that God will “handle a situation” even before He does! If you are only at peace after the answer comes, then your peace is not faith based.
When your concern is on God’s To Do List it is as good as done! Does that mean He will do everything the way you want Him to do it? Certainly not! It reminds me of an old television program that was popular in the 1950’s called Father Knows Best! Your Father, God knows best about everything, and if you leave the decision of what to do about a situation to Him, it will be the very best outcome possible!
“Lord Jesus, thank You for the Peace that comes from belonging to You and trusting You for everything. Praise Your Holy Name now and forever. Amen.”
