I AM - Coming Soon

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" Everyone who hears this should say, "Come!" If you are thirsty, come! If you want life-giving water, come and take it. It's free!  Here is my warning for everyone who hears the prophecies in this book: If you add anything to them, God will make you suffer all the terrible troubles written in this book.  If you take anything away from these prophecies, God will not let you have part in the life-giving tree and in the holy city described in this book.  The one who has spoken these things says, "I am coming soon!" So, Lord Jesus, please come soon!

Revelation 22: 17 - 20

Whenever I see the words “I Am” they remind me of Words God spoke to Moses.  When Moses ask God who He was, so Moses could tell they people who sent him, God said to tell them “I Am” had sent him.

This, next to the last verse in the entire Bible, reminds me of a large sign outside a theater that says “I AM - Coming Soon!”

There are those who spend lots of time pondering the prophecies about the return of Jesus!  They like to look at the world around them and see if this might be the time just before the return of Jesus Christ!  They are often criticized for being too concerned about the return of Jesus and not enough about living as His follower now, whether or not His return is soon.

It sounds reasonable enough, but consider this: Two men are followers of Jesus and one believes the return of Jesus will be a long time from now, probably after he has already died.  The other man get’s up everyday thinking that this may indeed be the Day when Jesus will return.  Do you think there daily lives will be the same?  Of course not!

The man who believes the return of Jesus will not be soon can put off every leading of the Spirit and tell God that he will be obedient someday.  The man who expects the soon return of Jesus will drop everything and obey the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit, because there may not be a later time to do it!

Live today as if this were not just your last day on earth, but more importantly, live as if this were the Day on which Jesus will return!  Then you will not “Procrastinate Doing the Will of God.”  Putting off until tomorrow what God wants you to do today is the same as saying to God “I will not obey” because you have no guarantee that for you there will be a tomorrow on this earth!

“Lord Jesus, help me today to be obedient to everything You want me to do.  And Lord let me expect to see You return before this Day ends!  Praise Your Holy Name now and forever.  Amen.”
