Listen to this blog.
“When the Spirit is given to us from heaven, deserts will become orchards thick as fertile forests. Honesty and justice will prosper there, and justice will produce lasting peace and security.
You, the Lord’s people, will live in peace,
calm and secure, even if hailstones flatten forests and cities.
You will have God’s blessing, as you plant your crops
beside streams, while your donkeys and cattle roam freely about.”
Isaiah 32:15-20
If the Holy Spirit is living in your heart you will live in peace, calm and secure. That is true no matter what is happening around you.
When you receive the Holy Spirit you are like a man resting peacefully in an airplane at 30,000 feet going 500 miles an hour. If you are resting against a window the danger and terror are only inches away from your head, but you can sleep like a baby because you are safe and secure and you can trust the pilot. The Holy Spirit protects your heart like that airplane. All around you see the dangers of this life, but none of them can touch your heart!
Just last night I was almost home when a van pulled out in front of my car and I had to swerve quickly to keep from having what would have been a very serious wreck. It was so close that I yelled loudly because I was sure we would collide. No one was hurt and no car was scratched, but I temporarily lost my peace and calm.
Satan cannot make the Holy Spirit leave my life, but he continually tries to shake the peace and calmness that comes from trusting God. Is there turbulence on the ride to Heaven? Of course there is. A seat belt is a wonderful idea, but you can be sure that a safe landing at Heaven's gate is certain and no one will accidentally fall out of the plane!
On the flight to Heaven my job is to keep buckled up with the Word of God and enjoy the view!
