Pride and Faith!

Listen to this blog.

“I, the Lord , refuse to accept
anyone who is proud.
Only those who live by faith
are acceptable to me.”

Habakkuk 2:4

The sin of pride is fundamentally this: Those who are proud give credit to the creation for what the Creator has done.

Every accomplishment of man is totally supported by the provision of God. God gives air to breathe, water to drink and food to keep the body nourished and strong. Without the breath of God blowing on the spark of life every flame would quickly die out and join the historic heap of cold ashes.

On the other hand, faith is the same as pride except it is totally focused on God. What the proud man believes about himself is what the man of faith believes about God! "God is great and God is good" are the first seven words of a children's prayer. Those with faith see the greatness of God and fully embrace His goodness!

Man is not good and man is not great. Only God is worthy of those descriptive words. When you refer to the most honorable man alive today and call him a "good" man you are wrong. When you refer to any man as "great" you join the chorus of those proclaiming the lie of Satan.

The proud man will show others his pride. He cannot do otherwise. The man of faith will reveal his faith to those around him.

Faith in God is like pouring a gallon of water into a pint jar! It will spill over on everyone around.
