I ask the glorious Father and God of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you his Spirit. The Spirit will make you wise and let you understand what it means to know God.
My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you. Then you will discover the glorious blessings that will be yours together with all of God’s people.
Ephesians 1:17-18
Relationships progress from the first handshake to the most intimate union of a man and woman who have been married for more than 50 years! When a man knows his wife, he finds that such knowledge is a well too deep for words. It is a mystery and a wonder that you can see on the faces of couples who have been married for many years.
What does it mean to know God? Knowing God and being known by Him is the greatest wonder and mystery on earth. God has known me from the first thought of Creation. I begin the journey of knowing God when I realize that my earthly father could not have made the stars! The "heavens declare the Glory of God" and they shout loudly in the ears of every child who looks up at the night sky.
Do you know God or do you just know about God? Do you know what He says and does or do you sit quietly with Him and watch Him do it? Is the Bible a whip you love to crack over the heads of those who don't believe, or is the Bible the bit and bridle that gently directs you in the path God had planned for your life?
Do you ever pray and say nothing at all to God? Really good friends can spend hours being together without talking. Try having a truly "Quiet Time" today with God. It is a step closer to Him!
