Take Jesus to Work Day

Listen to this blog.

The Lord is going to take away your job! He will give your official robes and your authority to his servant Eliakim son of Hilkiah. Eliakim will be like a father to the people of Jerusalem and to the royal family of Judah. The Lord will put him in charge of the key that belongs to King David’s family. No one will be able to unlock what he locks, and no one will be able to lock what he unlocks.

The Lord will make him as firm in his position as a tent peg hammered in the ground, and Eliakim will bring honor to his family.

Isaiah 22:19-23

God knows about unemployment. In these verses it plainly says that He fired Shebna and gave his job to Eliakim. Now, I don't know a lot about either of these men, but I do know that God Himself acted like Donald Trump by firing one and hiring the other.

Is God involved in your job? Well, you may say, "I am not involved in Christian ministry in my job, so God would not be involved." That is quite wrong. If you are a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit lives in you then Christ in you goes to your job every day! When Jesus lived in His physical body on this earth He was a carpenter, but today Jesus is a doctor, engineer, janitor, school teacher, and all of a thousand other jobs that His followers do every day!

If Jesus was a janitor, would He impact those around Him with the Love of God every day? Of course He would! If Jesus were a school teacher, would He impart truth to students that is clear and untainted by lies?

Ask yourself this question: Does Jesus go to work with me everyday? If the answer is no, then it is not the job that needs to be changed, it is you! Even if the job itself is evil, then today repent of the evil and do the right thing instead of the wrong. Will you lose your job by the end of the day? Oh yes, I imagine that you probably will, but that is called being persecuted for righteousness sake.

The question is not "What would Jesus do if He were doing my job?" The question is "What will I allow Jesus to do since He is in me and wants to express His love and righteousness today where I work."
